Two die in road crashes near Wisbech and Cambridge

Crashes were near Madingley and near Wisbech

Two men have died in crashes this week – one near Cambridge and another on the outskirts of Wisbech. A 61-year-old motorcyclist riding a Harley Davidson died following a crash on the A1303 near Cambridge yesterday (27 June).

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 7.20pm near Madingley. The rider, from Papworth Everard, died at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage, or believes they saw the motorcycle at the time, should contact police online quoting incident 496 of 27 June, or call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit.

The second fatality occurred on the A1101 Outwell Road, Emneth, Wisbech at 8.25am on Monday when a silver Ford Fiesta collided with a yellow Ford Ranger.

The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene including fire, ambulance and air ambulance.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn by road. He was later transferred by air to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

He has since sadly died (Tuesday 25 June 2024).

The driver of the Ford Ranger, a man aged in his 60s, was taken by air to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He remains there in a serious but stable condition.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has any relevant dashcam footage. Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch via the following channels quoting reference NC-24062024-75:
