Locked up: The criminal causing ‘misery’ to many across Cambridge
A man described by police as a “prolific criminal who causes misery” to residents, shopkeepers and visitors is behind bars.
Cambridgeshire police today revealed the moment Liam Berna, 31, was taken off the streets of Cambridge and arrested last Friday.
On Tuesday Liam Berna, 31, of no fixed address, was jailed by Cambridge magistrates’ for six months after admitting to assaulting two members of security staff at Budgens in Arbury Court on 7 July.

He also admitted stealing a bike from Trinity College on 6 July and using a fire extinguisher to smash the window of TK Maxx in Market Street on 23 March
Berna was arrested by the city neighbourhood team on Friday morning for a string of offences including common assault, bike theft and attempted burglary.
PC Rob Tindall, from the Cambridge neighbourhood policing team, said: “Berna is a prolific criminal who causes misery to residents, businesses and visitors to the city.”
