Former Kings School student and chorister David Lammy MP was back in Peterborough to visit his old school and to help Labour’s Parliamentary candidate to be the next MP in the city. Now, Shadow Foreign Secretary, David visited his old school on Friday and met with the Dean of Peterborough Cathedral, the Very Revd Chris Dalliston, as well as campaigning for Labour’s Andrew Pakes in the city.
Peterborough is Labour’s top target Parliamentary seat in the East of England and Andrew, is working alongside Labour colleagues to win support for the next General Election.
Mr Lammy said: “I spent much of my childhood in Peterborough studying at the Kings School, so this city will always have a special place in my heart. It was a pleasure to come back today, to meet the students and see some of my wonderful former teachers again.
“I also came to support Andrew Pakes, Labour’s fantastic candidate to be the next MP for the city.
“Families across Peterborough are struggling to make ends meet after years of ‘sticking plaster’ politics.
“Representatives like Andrew in a Labour government will help us get our confidence and our future back, and places like Peterborough are at the heart of our plans to transform the country for the better.”
