Thief Ralph Allgood will need a ‘can’t shop here’ list when he comes out of prison after a court banned him from five Cambridge stores for five years.

Allgood, 36, of no fixed address, stole thousands of pounds of alcohol from various shops (and a bike) and has been jailed for a year. and banned from some Cambridge shops.

He was captured on CCTV breaking into the warehouse of Sainsbury’s in Sidney Street on 21 September where he stole some vodka.

He returned three hours later and took further alcohol worth a total of £3,500.

Allgood was also captured on CCTV and by a member of the public stealing a bike from Fitzroy Street on 24 September.

PC Alex Thake, who investigated, said: “Allgood is one of Cambridge’s prolific thieves. We hope this latest conviction will provide some much-needed respite to the businesses and staff across the city who have endured his offending.”
