A Mercedes that struck another vehicle on the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire border nearly ended up in the River Nene.
Policing Fenland revealed details – and photos – of the crash that happened on February 29.
The crash happened on Tydd road near Wisbech when the white Mercedes hit a stationary vehicle that had been parked on the road without lights.
“This collision resulted in the Mercedes leaving the road and ending up less than a meter from the River Nene,” said police.
“There was no injury reported to the Mercedes driver.
“The driver of the other vehicle was not on scene. Both vehicles were recovered from the scene.”
The crash, reported on the Policing Fenland Facebook page, added with a warning to “please drive to arrive when using our rural roads as they are dark, bumpy and have many dangers”.
