A 63-year-old cyclist has died in hospital, nine days after being hit by a lorry. The woman taken to hospital following the collision near Wyton, Huntingdon, on February 28 but died in hospital on Friday, (8 March).
She has been named as 63-year-old Denise Hind of Sparrowhawk Way, Hartford, Huntingdon.
Denise was cycling on the A1123 (Huntingdon Road) at just after 7pm on February 29 when she was struck by lorry, near to the junction of Splash Lane.
Ambulance crews attended and the woman, who is in her 60s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where she remains today in a critical condition.
DI Garry Webb, from the BCH Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are trying to piece together what happened and would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact us.
“That includes anyone who may have seen the woman on the same road or surrounding roads beforehand.”
The road was closed following the collision and the driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, is helping police with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for information and urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash cam footage, to call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit, quoting Op Tyler or incident 474 of 28 February.
