This year’s Ramadan fundraiser in Cambridge– which has run annually since 2021 – is focused on providing essential food support to refugees and asylum seekers living in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
“Over the last few months, we’ve been supporting more refugee families who have recently arrived in the city,” says Shahida Rahman, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
“So, we’ve decided this year’s Cambridge Ramadan Appeal will concentrate on providing essential food support to refugees and asylum seekers who are resettling here in Cambridge, as well as some of the nearby towns and villages.
“For the fourth year running, we continue to work collaboratively and effectively with our local partners – including the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum and Cambridge City Council – to identify those struggling to put food on the table and with managing their bills.”
He said that while Muslims across the globe go without food and drink during the daylight hours of Ramadan, many will be seeking to reap the rewards of this holy month by giving charity to people in need.
“Please donate what you can to our Cambridge Ramadan Appeal and help us to provide lifeline food support to refugees and asylum seekers resettling here in Cambridge,” said Mr Rahman.
“We wish everyone in Cambridge and around the world a peaceful and prosperous Ramadan.
“Thank you for your support and please donate generously.”
