Ely is to host the 2024 Cambridge Rock Festival – a month after the same venue hosts the Ely Folk Festival. The rock festival will take place from August 1-4 at Harlocks Farm, (next to Ben’s Yard), Stuntney, Ely.
“The move to Ely came after management changes at Horseheath meant that the venue was no longer viable,” says a post on the rock festival’s Facebook page.
“Harlocks Farm itself is no stranger to rock, being the host of Pin
k Floyd’s cover photo for the Division Bell album, with 2 sculpted metal heads perfectly framing the view of Ely Cathedral.
“For the very first time Cambridge Rock Festival will host the Pure Floyd Show on the very same farm.”
The Cambridge Rock Festival had originally been scheduled to take place at the Horseheath Lodge estate of lottery winner Adrian Bayford.
However last year’s event there was called off after neighbours lodged complaints about noise “and chaos” in the area.
Organisers say the 20th anniversary Cambridge Rock Festival is set to offer their biggest selection of music in 4 days ever.
Ticket prices start from £34 for a Thursday ticket, or 4-day tickets are on available through their “variable pay-what-you-can-afford scheme” currently varying from £139 – £159.
Line up is in the final stages of completion and features the likes of Classic Rock, Blues Rock, Soul, Ska, Folk Rock. There are three stages to choose from.
