Various online outlets are offering £53.90 a head tickets to see renowned international soul singer Heather Small at Peterborough Cathedral on May 5 even though the date has been shunted back to November 1.
As the lead singer of M People, Heather has enjoyed a distinguished career and was due to headline a concert at the cathedral, performing a one hour set with her band from around 9.15pm.
The cathedral announced on Friday that “due to unforeseen circumstances, beyond our control, the scheduled Heather Small performance at Peterborough Cathedral on Sunday 5th May can no longer go ahead and has been postponed to a new date of Friday 1st November.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused as we know many of you were very excited to see Heather on 5th May as tickets were almost sold out!”
A cathedral spokesperson said that ticket outlets Skiddle, Gigantic, Seetickets and Ticketweb will be in touch shortly to either move your tickets across to the new date or give you a refund.
“Please check your emails for further details” said the spokesperson.
“Hopefully we will see you on Friday 1st November for what promises to be a night to remember at the cathedral.”
However sites are still offering tickets for the May 5 event at the cathedral.
The cathedral spokesperson advised anyone with further questions to “please email info@newvisionevents.co.uk, do not contact the cathedral as we are not the promoter of this event”.
Heather’s group M People sold over 10 million albums worldwide – in 1997 she was one of the voices on the Children in Need charity single ‘Perfect Day’
