Man is critical after Ely attack – two in custody

A man was left with life-threatening injuries after being attacked in Ely.
Emergency services were called to Egremont Street, Ely, at about 11pm on November 2 with reports a man had been assaulted.

A man was left with life-threatening injuries after being seriously wounded in Ely.

Emergency services were called to Egremont Street, Ely, at about 11pm on November 2 with reports a man had been assaulted.

The man, in his 50s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Detective Inspector Gordon Blair said: “I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen this man in the moments leading up to when he suffered these injuries.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone in the area who may have dash cam footage to come forward.”

A woman, 38, and a man, 19, have been arrested following the incident.

They are being held on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, in connection with this incident.

Both remain in custody.
