A Cambridgeshire social worker has won praise after winning a national award. Zainab Sulaiman who works for Cambridgeshire County Council won the award for Best Practice Educator of the Year at the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2024.
Cambridgeshire County Council was shortlisted in three categories: Best Supportive Employer, Best Practice Educator of the Year and Best Children’s Newly Qualified Social Worker, (NQSW).
Councillor Susan van de Ven, vice chair of the adults and health committee said: “Winning the Best Practice Educator award is testament to Zainab’s dedication in nurturing growth, promoting equitable learning, and upholding the core values of social work.
“I am incredibly proud, not only of Zainab’s achievement, but also of everyone who strives to make Cambridgeshire County Council a beacon of excellence in social care.”
Cllr van de Ven said: “The Social Worker of the Year Awards are recognised across the UK for celebrating the inspiring achievements of social workers and the positive impact they have on communities.”
