The temporary Covid-19 large scale vaccination centres including at Wisbech, Peterborough, and Cambridge are to close before the end of the year.

The vaccination programmes across the region will continue from alternate locations so that those wanting a Covid jab can get them at pharmacies and other local locations.

These will include outreach programmes such as care homes and for the housebound.

The last day for vaccinations (4pm closing time) will be:

15 December at Horsefair Shopping Centre in Wisbech, Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough, and Chesterton Indoor Bowls Centre in Cambridge.

22 December at The Eatons Community Centre in Eaton Socon; and 30 December at the Oaktree Centre in Huntingdon, and The Grafton Centre in Cambridge.

Health Secretary and NE Cambs MP Steve Barclay said: “Over the last two years, more than a million vaccinations have been delivered in the county’s large vaccination centres.

“The staff and volunteers have made a huge difference in the battle against Covid.

“Many thanks to every one of them.

“Vaccinations are still the best form of protection from severe illness from Covid-19 and I would urge anyone eligible to get a jab. Find out where your nearest location is at www.thevaccinators.co.uk.
