A ‘violent and manipulative’ 23-year-old man from Gorefield near Wisbech has been jailed for seven years for a series of abusive incidents.

Tom Jacklin of Churchill Road, Gorefield appeared before Norwich Crown Court on Monday and was jailed for seven years.

He was found guilty of controlling and coercive behaviour, assault by penetration and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Jacklin, who had pleaded not guilty to all counts, will also be subject to a restraining order indefinitely and has been ordered to pay £170.

This week’s sentence follows a series of incidents that happened in 2019 and 2020.

Tom Jacklin of Churchill Road, Gorefield appeared before Norwich Crown Court on Monday and was jailed for seven years.

The court was told Jacklin had been physically and emotionally abusive to his victim, often becoming violent by scratching, biting, and pulling hair.

Jacklin was arrested and taken to Kings Lynn Police Investigation Centre where he was questioned and later charged.

Investigating officer DC Gemma Garner said: “Jacklin is a violent and manipulative offender who subjected his victim to both physical and mental abuse.

“It is pleasing he’s behind bars where he will be unable to harm anyone else.”
