A popular Cambridgeshire wood – popular with dog walkers – has been closed temporarily because of a dangerous tree.

Huntingdonshire District Council announced this morning they have been forced to close the wood in Hill Rise, St Ives “as a dangerous tree is hanging over the path”.

A council spokesperson said: “Our arboriculture team will visit the area tomorrow (29 December) to make the tree safe again but until then, the woods will remain closed to the public.”

The spokesperson added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience during this time.”
