She’s on the move again – SE Cambs MP Lucy Frazer has been appointed culture secretary in Rishi Sunak’s government.

Her appointed was confirmed today as part of a cabinet reshuffle with Ms Frazer moving from her current role as minister of state for housing and planning.

In her new role she replaces Michelle Donelan.

At our catch-up last week, we discussed the damage that any potential road pricing plan would have on families and businesses, feedback from constituents and what action can be taken to make sure these proposals don’t go ahead”.

The Government describes it as part of a plan to ‘refocus’ the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport.

Michelle Donela, who only moved to her culture post last September, is en route to the new Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

A statement from the UK government said that Sunak had created four new government departments, including “a re-focused Department for Culture, Media and Sport [that] will recognise the importance of these industries to our economy and build on the UK’s position as a global leader in the creative arts”.

Ms Frazer has accumulated a parliamentary CV that has included prison, financial secretary to the treasure and minister of state for transport.
