A Cambridgeshire council has urged the public to call Crimestoppers to help trace offenders who stole a skip and fly-tipped the contents on a country lane.
East Cambridgeshire District Council made the plea after being alerted to fly-tipping in their area.
“The fly-tip, near the Grunty Fen Catchwater By-way off White Cross Road, between Wilburton and Little Thetford, is being investigated by our officers and the police,” said a council statement.
“People who have skips in their gardens or at business premises need to be extra vigilant after thieves stole a skip and fly-tipped the contents.”
The statement added: “If anyone has any information please contact us on 01353 665555 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”.
Cllr Julia Huffer, said: “Skips are valuable items, sought for their weight in metal. We advise anyone who is currently using a skip to be mindful of access to the skip particularly at business premises overnight to prevent theft.”
