The A47 between Guyhirn and Wisbech is to close for two nights this week to allow for resurfacing. National Highways has listed possible – and lengthy – diversions although most drivers will look for local roads to avoid them.
“We plan to complete this work over two nights from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 July 2024,” said a statement from National Highways.
“We will work between 8pm and 6am, weather conditions permitting
“We’re doing resurfacing work along the A47 between Rings End roundabout at Guyhirn and Redmoor Lane roundabout at Wisbech.
“Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.”
National Highways says to carry out the work safely, they will need to close the A47 between Rings End roundabout Redmoor Lane roundabout, and divert traffic as detailed below:

Then follow the A10 towards Downham Market and join the A1122 and A1101 Elm High Road towards Wisbech, before re-joining the A47.
