A Wisbech café boss has had his premises licence suspended for 28 days after admitting to police he bought a bottle of vodka for £10 from someone who it later transpired used a stolen bank card to buy it for £22.99 from somewhere else.
The incident happened on May 10 and what happened the following day when police attended the café.
The evidence formed part of the evidence discussed when Constantino Almeida appeared before a licensing subcommittee today (September 11).
Wisbech café boss risks losing licence over £10 bottle of vodka
Mr Almeida runs Delicious Snack Bar at 50 Hill Street, Wisbech, and a review of his premises licence was called for by Cambridgeshire police.
Mr Almeida has 21 days to appeal the suspension which he can do before magistrates in Peterborough.
If he decides not to appeal the suspension will kick in from that day.
The licensing committee also removed him as Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) for the café.
Mr Almeida was reminded by the committee of more punitive measures that were available to them including revocation of his licence.
