Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Cambridge. Police were called by the ambulance service at 1am this morning (25 February) with reports of a stabbing in Chesterton Road.
The man, who is in his 50s, was pronounced dead at 1.18am.
This morning police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at Parkside Police Station.
Detective Inspector Mark Butler, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “I understand this is likely to be concerning to the local community, but we believe it to be an isolated incident, and we have extra patrols in the area today.
“We would like to appeal to anyone with information to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
