A pedestrian died last night after being struck by a car in St Neots – the driver is being held on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs.
It happened at happened at about 9pm (19 April) when a white Skoda Octavia travelling along the B1428 St Neots Road, Eaton Ford (outside the White House), struck the pedestrian
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, died at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man from St Neots, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and dangerous driving.
He remains in custody at Parkside Police Station, Cambridge.
Detective Inspector Garry Webb from the Serious Collision Unit said: “This happened on a busy road, and we know there were other motorists in the area at the time.
“If you were travelling out of town, you may have noticed the distinct white Skoda Octavia.
“I’m appealing to anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the vehicle being driven before the collision to get in touch.”
“Anyone with information or dashcam footage should tell us about it through the force website using reference 521 of 19 April,” said DI Webb.
“Anyone without internet access should call 101 quoting the same reference.”
