A former university building has overnight become a temporary home to travellers who have moved onto the car park.
Police have been to the Guild House in Oundle Road to check the numbers of vehicles that have arrived.
The building was until recently home to the Anglia Ruskin University campus, but they moved to the new university off Bishop’s Road.

Any action to remove the travellers will be the responsibility of the owners which listed the 60,000 square feet building for sale through Eddisons.
The selling agents have suggested the Guild House lends itself to a wide range of alternative uses including offices, a hotel or conversion to flats.

It was built 60 years ago and was once HQ for British Sugar. The site extends to four acres and, as the travellers found, has “extensive parking areas”.
