Ken Abbs celebrated his 100th birthday at Ness Court, Burwell, with a family party complete with balloons and a personalised cake and attended by fellow residents and staff.
Samantha Keys, well-being and inclusion assistant at the community living scheme said: “Ken is a much-loved resident here at Ness Court and we all had a wonderful time celebrating his special day.
“We work hard to support residents to lead fulfilling lives, and marking special occasions and birthdays plays a huge part in this.”
Ken’s grandson Joey posted to Facebook: “What an achievement to reach 100 and what a magnificent role model this man is.
“Ken has been such an inspiration to me over the years and he has always been a great support to his whole family.
“He would always come and watch me play whenever he could and even used to clean my boots for me when I was young!
“I’m sure lots of you will remember Ken coming to watch football in the local area.”
Ness Court is run by Sanctuary Supported Living and provides personalised care and support through supported housing and related services.
