A second bank is to close its branch in a Huntingdonshire town.
Weeks after NatWest announced the closure of its St Neots branch from next February, today HSBC said their bank in the town is also to close.
NatWest said its branch is down to only five personal and just over 100 business customers as the majority of customers move to online banking.
HSBC’s closure of St Neots branch is among 114 branches that will go from April, also citing the move to online as the main reason.
Bank director Jackie Uhi said footfall in many branches was at an all-time low and there were no signs of it returning.
“Banking remotely is becoming the norm for the vast majority of us,” she said.
