A couple living at Jubilee Court retirement community in March, have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with friends and loved ones.
Sheila and Albert Cable, who moved into Sanctuary Supported Living’s Jubilee Court earlier this year, met when they both went ballroom dancing, and have been together ever since.
They married when Sheila was 18 and Albert was 23, and have enjoyed 60 happy years of marriage, which was celebrated with a party at Jubilee Court.
They commemorated the milestone over lunch with their Jubilee Court friends, with staff decorating the retirement community and providing delicious cake for the occasion.
They also received a congratulatory card from His Majesty King Charles III, which they were delighted about.
When asked about the secret to their wedded bliss, Sheila said: “Albert is always right – or that’s what I tell him, anyway!”
Kim Griffen, retirement communities manager for Jubilee Court, added: “We were so proud to be able to help Sheila and Albert celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary.
“It’s such an incredible achievement, to be marking 60 years of love and marriage together, and it was lovely for Jubilee Court residents and staff to be a part of their celebration.”
