Peterborough City Council got a pat on the back today for its quick response to clearing a busy road after a fallen tree blocked a road at Bretton.
Workers from Aragon Direct Services, the city council’s trading company, turned out in blustery conditions to quickly remove the debris to get the road re-opening.

Richard Strangward, city councillor for Bretton, praised the workers and in a Facebook post wrote: “They do a cracking job and they’ll be a lot of very grateful people out thanking them for what they do.”

The fallen tree hit a car and damaged a lamp post. The occupants of the car escaped although one passer-by said only one person suffered minor injuries.
