A drug dealer who hid a stash of cocaine in a cigarette packet has been jailed. Police were on patrol in Cambridge on 21 December when they stopped a Ford Fiesta in Newmarket Road.

Inside the vehicle they found 12 bags of cocaine hidden within a cigarette packet and £810 concealed in the logbook inside the glove box.

The driver, 23-year-old Uranik Jonuzi, of no fixed address, was arrested and taken into custody.

While being searched, a further two wraps of cocaine were discovered inside his shoes.

At Peterborough Crown Court, on Thursday (1 February), Uranik was sentenced to two years and four months in prison after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Detective Constable Leah Beckett, who investigated, said: “Jonuzi had been previously seen driving his Ford Fiesta around the city late at night and when officers stopped him, he couldn’t explain why.

“We’re committed to identifying those dealing drugs in our community and putting them before the courts.”
