Eighteen months after a raid on a Cambridge industrial, two drug dealers have been jailed for supplying cannabis. Earlier this year a third man was jailed for a similar offence after being caught fleeing the scene.

Police were carrying out a warrant at Cave Industrial Estate in Fen Road, Cambridge, in March last year (2023) in connection with drug supply and money laundering when Sulejman Dauti hastily drove past with two passengers inside.

Officers stopped the vehicle and Sulejman Dauti was searched and found with two mobile phones and £388 in cash.

One of the passengers, Mehmet Dauti, was also searched and found with two mobile phones.

The pair were arrested, and their phones were reviewed and found to contain messages linking them to dealing cocaine.

At Peterborough Crown Court on Monday (11 November), Sulejman, 23, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and dangerous driving.

He was also disqualified from driving for 49.5 months.

Mehmet, 27, of Bramblebury Road, Plumstead, Woolwich, was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

The second passenger, Bekim Shoti, 27, of Cambridge Road, Fulbourn, was also searched and found with a mobile phone, a fraudulent driving licence and £335 in cash.

He was sentenced to three years and two months in prison on 11 January after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of identity documents with intent.

PC Mark Deal, who investigated, said: “We work relentlessly to tackle those causing harm to our communities through drug dealing and exploitation.

“We use our own information as well as information from the public to continually disrupt criminal networks across Cambridgeshire.”
