A drug dealer from Ely has been jailed – more than three and a half years after a raid on his Ely home.

His accomplice has been given a suspended sentence.

Police carried out a warrant at their home in Wheatsheaf Close, Ely, in August 2019 after suspecting they were dealing drugs.

Officers found wraps of heroin in the kitchen along with scales, cannabis and two mobile phones containing messages linking them to the supply of heroin.

At Peterborough Crown Court on Monday (23 January) Lesley Earwaker, 63, of Wheatsheaf Close, Ely, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison after being found guilty of possession with intent to supply class A and possession of class B drugs.

Kate Muncaster, 30, of Wheatsheaf Close, Ely, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years after pleading guilty to the same offences.

She was also given a three-month curfew to be at home between the hours of 9pm and 7am.

Detective Sergeant Matt Smith, who investigated, said: “Drugs have no place in our community. They fuel crime and exploitation. We’ll continue to pursue and bring to justice those who cause misery in our communities.”
