Two men wearing balaclavas and wielding sledgehammers robbed a convenience store in St Neots last night, escaping with £500 from a safe.
“At about 9.30pm yesterday (7 October), the two men entered Morrisons in Bishops Road wearing balaclavas and carrying sledgehammers,” said a Cambridgeshire police spokesperson.
“The pair demanded money from the tills and left with around £500 from a safe.
“They made off with a third man in a red Ford Focus.”
Detective Constable Lisa Bacon, from the Southern Acquisitive Crime Team, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this incident or saw the vehicle in the moments leading up to and afterwards.
“We would particularly like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage of the vehicle.”
