Dozens of tyres have been dumped in a beauty spot alongside the Nene Washes at Whittlesey.
The two and a half mile Long Drove runs in a straight line by the river just north of Whittlesey.
“Sadly, someone dumped this mound of tyres in Long Drove, Whittlesey, late on Sunday evening, 8 January,” said a spokesperson for the Fenland District Council.
“Unfortunately, no evidence was found at the scene.
“Did you see this fly-tipping take place or do you have any information?
“Please help us to catch those responsible by reporting to our Street Scene team at: streetscene@fenland.gov.uk.”
The council says any information will be treated “in strictest confidence”.
The tyres have all had the steel wire cut off leading many suspect this was to realise steel scrap value.
