A robber who stole a man’s wallet in Peterborough has been jailed for four years.
Adrian Trowell, 50, spotted accomplice Angela Williams, 51, having a drink with the victim in O’Neill’s pub, in Broadway, at about 5pm on 2 July last year.
He approached the pair and had a brief conversation with Williams before leaving.
A short while later the victim and Williams also left and headed down a nearby alleyway, where Trowell pushed the man over and stole his wallet.
Trowell and Williams both fled but were later identified via CCTV footage.
The pair denied robbery but were found guilty following a trial at Huntingdon Law Courts last month.
Yesterday (17 November) at Cambridge Crown Court, Trowell, of Elizabeth Court, Peterborough, was jailed.
Williams, also of Elizabeth Court, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years.
In addition, she was ordered to complete 35 days of rehabilitation activity.
PC Matt Slater said: “Williams and Trowell conspired to steal from the victim as he walked through the city centre.
“Fortunately, he was not seriously injured but the sentence demonstrates how seriously robbery is treated.
“I’m pleased they have both now appeared in court and faced justice for their crime.”
