Cambridge with its centuries old colleges is often focused on the past – until now with the arrival in the city of Ryan Gosling to film his new fast packed sci movie Project Hail Mary.
Gosling is playing teacher turned astronaut, Ryland Grace, in the new adaptation of the 2021 space novel, Project Hail Mary.
Critics are already hailing the forthcoming film as “the sci-fi event of 2026”.
Project Hail Mary is based on the book by Andy Weir who fans will recall became famous for his debut novel, the Martian.
The film was a massive box office success and Project Hail Mary is being tipped to enjoy similar if not greater success. It has a release date of March.
Gosling looked a world apart from cool Ken, the role he became famous for in the Barbie film as he was spotted for the first time on the set of Project Hail Mary wearing an ugly sweater.
Photographs show the 43-year-old actor mainly wearing chunky knitwear, together with a blue beanie, thin-rimmed glasses and a long yellow jacket.
In his new film he plays a lone astronaut played tasked with saving humanity from extinction. You would expect nothing less!
