Former Bank of England economist and Shadow Chancellor, Rachel Reeves MP, was in Peterborough at the weekend to kick off Labour’s spring campaigning efforts.
It was great to welcome @RachelReevesMP to Peterborough at the weekend.
We need a fresh start to tackle the cost of living crisis, fix the NHS and to put pride back in our country.
The shadow chancellor joined Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate, Andrew Pakes, Mayor Nik Johnson, and campaigners for a day speaking to residents across the city.

The shadow chancellor said: “Labour will bring stability back to our economy so that never again can we play fast and loose with the public finances in the way that the Tories have done.
“The question people will ask themselves at the next election is pretty clear: Are me and my family better off after 14 years of Conservative government?
“It’s time for a government that is on the side of ordinary working people.”
Mr Pakes said: “It was great to welcome Rachel Reeves to Peterborough and to go out and talk to people about the issues affecting their lives.
“There’s a real sense, in a city like ours, that people are fed up with politics that don’t work. The message was clear that people want an end to the chaos and infighting in government.
“Residents wanted to talk about the cost-of-living crisis, about the lack of NHS dentists and the struggle to find a GP when you need one.
“We have such talents and opportunities in the city, but they are being held back after 14 years of the Conservatives in government.”
