Two garages and cars caught fire in the early hours of Saturday and the flames spread to a nearby house that was quickly evacuated.
“Thankfully all residents got out of the property before crews arrived,” said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire fire and rescue.
The call came at 5.08 to the fire on Caxton End, Bourn, a village 10 miles west of Cambridge and near Cambourne.
Crews from Huntingdon, Ramsey, Chatteris, St Neots, Burwell, Cottenham, Cambridge, and the turntable ladder from Cambridge responded.
“Crews arrived to find two garages and cars on fire, with had spread to the house and neighbouring property,” said the spokesperson.
“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels to get the fire under control and prevent further spread.
“The incident began scaling back at around 8am.
“Firefighters re inspected the incident later in the evening and the following morning.
“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
