Wisbech and District Historic Vehicle Club will be holding its annual Road Run for the 30th time on Sunday 18th August. The first run was in 1993 and has only missed one year because of Covid.
Approximately 150 vehicles from a bygone era (and all more than 25 years old) will take to the road on Sunday, some as old as the 1930’s.
The route will take them from the start at Somers Road Car Park in Wisbech, departing from 09.30 on to Tydd St Mary, Holbeach, Spalding and Market Deeping, and Peterborough, for a half-way stop at the Bauermedia Car Park at Lynchwood by around 11.15.
The return journey starts at 12.45, passing through Whittlesey, and Wisbech St Mary before finishing back at the Somers Road Car Park, approximately 70 miles later. The days Awards will be presented at 15.30.
Taking part will be all manner of vehicles from yesteryear, including motorbikes, cars of all ages, vans and a large contingent of lorries, all rigged as we remember them from years ago.
This event has become the biggest of its type in the area, and is sure to attract a lot of attention, not least by people waving as the vehicles go by.
The event is sponsored by Elgoods Brewery.
All money raised by the Run is donated to charity. Since the club started, over £10,000 has been collected and distributed to local good causes.
