As a police officer you never know what you’ll face in your next shift.
These officers dealt with the distressing aftermath of an acid attack and, together with their Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service colleagues, helped the traumatised victims.
It was just an exercise, but it provided vital training that one day might help them save lives.
The officers were faced with multiple casualties in need of decontamination and followed the “remove, remove, remove” procedure.
This helps reduce the impact of a hazardous substance by removing the victim from the immediate area, removing their outer clothing and removing the substance from their skin.
Could you save lives in extreme circumstances?
Do you want a job where every day is different?
Cambridgeshire Police hope the exercise will encourage new recruits.
