A Luton councillor has been selected by Labour to take on sitting Tory MP in North East Cambridgeshire. Cllr Javeria Hussain has been a member of Luton Council since 2019 and is portfolio holder for skills and employability.
She is also a director of London Luton Airport LTD (trading as Luton Rising), a Luton Council company that owns London Luton Airport.
Professionally she is a regulatory affairs specialist for an international law firm with experience of regulatory law, risk management, sanctions, governance, and compliance.
In 2022/2023 she was president of Rotary Club Luton North.
