A High Court hearing to decide whether the Home Office can use a Wisbech hotel to house asylum seekers has been postponed.
Fenland District Council filed an application for an interim injunction last week after learning that the Rose and Crown Hotel in Wisbech Market Place was being used by Serco, on behalf of the Home Office, to accommodate people seeking asylum.
The case was due to be heard at the High Court today, 15 November, but has now at the suggestion of the judge been relisted to permit a longer hearing.
The council is awaiting a new date for the hearing, which is expected to be early next week.
