There has been an outcry after CambsNews revealed that the German company behind a £450m incinerator for Wisbech had been entertained by a Government minister 24 hours before it was approved. Wisbech resident ALAN WHEELDON responds.
Lord Dominic Johnson states that (MVV) are ‘valued investors in the UK, and I was delighted to speak to them about their business and future opportunities which can greatly benefit the UK’s current net zero climate aim.’
Quote ‘greatly benefit the UK’s current net zero climate aim.’
This is absurd and shows how companies like MVV can influence ministers like Lord Johnson with promises of investment, to echo their ‘green’ propaganda.
Whereas the reality is that MVV will burn 650,000 tonnes of waste per year, much of it containing recyclable materials that will be lost forever.
This will result in the release of 25 million tonnes of carbon dioxide over the incinerators 40-year lifespan which will make global warming and climate change worse, not better.
On top of that to collect this waste fleets of lorries will be sent out all over the UK as far as 167km to collect this waste and bring it to Wisbech, pumping out tonnes of climate warming diesel fumes and polluting the atmosphere to exacerbate global warming even more.
Plus, millions of tonnes of toxic Fly ash from the incinerator will have to be disposed of.
Common sense says that this is anything but ‘GREEN!’
And yet MVV have the gall to say that this will benefit the UK’s net zero climate aim.
Naive inexperienced Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Claire Coutinho and selfish uncaring and privileged Lord Johnson swallows this propaganda without question as buzz words like ‘net zero benefits’ and ‘investment’ suit their agendas.
But the reality is that the German company MVV will make billions at the expense of the people of Wisbech whilst polluting the atmosphere and making global warming and climate change worse.
In spite of serious and considered opposition by experts and consultants showing the fallacy of this project, all of this was totally ignored, as MVV managed to convince the decision makers that this incinerator is green and will benefit us all.
The system is totally broken.
