The efforts of a paedophile hunting group who confronted a man in March, Cambridgeshire, in November 2021 can now be revealed after Grant Brownlow was jailed for four and a half years. Innocent Voices Stings spent a year tracking Brownlow’s online activities, his use of fake social media accounts, and his urges to meet a child for sex.

On November 21 November 2021 they were finally able to confront him after using some of his online photos to work out not only where he lived but the street name and his home.

The 30 minute ‘confrontation’ shows Innocent Voices Stings members putting the allegations to him whilst he is held firmly until Cambridgeshire police arrive.

The online paedophile team explain to Brownlow the evidence they have accumulated, challenge him on his motivations, but remain calm despite his repeated denials and claims his computer had been hacked.

On May 31 Brownlow was sentenced at Huntingdon Crown Court.

He had been arrested on suspicion of sexual communications with a child.

Independent Voices Stings described him as a “vile man” who wanted to the ‘child’ he believed was speaking to be ready to so he could meet, and she wouldn’t be shy.

“He groomed her for a very long time so was annoyed that she wouldn’t send indecent images of herself as he believed she should have trusted him by then,” says Innocent Voices Stings.

“He arranged to meet her a few times and attempted to get her to commit a s*xual act on herself.”

Brownlow was charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and possessing an extreme pornographic image.

He admitted the third charge but went to trial on the other two charges after pleading not guilty.

Grant pleaded guilty to charge 3 but not guilty to charge 1 and 2 so off to court and trial we went.

“The jury found him guilty within the hour and the wonderful judge remanded him straight to prison,” said the online paedophile hunters.

On May 31 group members were in court to see him sentenced.

On their Facebook page Innocent Voices Stings added: “To the judge, prosecution barrister and all the jury – thank you!

“As for any survivors/warriors – we believe you”.

Brownlow was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and handed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

DC Caroline Murphy said: “Brownlow was clearly told by the group he was talking to a 14-year-old girl, so only he can say why he continued making sexual advances. There was clear intent there to commit a sexual offence so young people will be safer with him behind bars.”
