Volunteers have created stunning displays across Wisbech this summer, heaving a cacophony of colour into making it a welcoming and sparkling place to visit.
Thirty years ago, Wisbech founded the first In Bloom group in Fenland which has gone on over the years to win numerous accolades for its superlative efforts.
2023 is no exception.
And unlike more prestigious places such as Salisbury which has become immersed in a political battle over what’s appropriate to boost tourism, Wisbech has remained strictly non political when it comes to the planting, display and creativity shown by a small army of volunteers.
Local photographer and town champion Wisbech Tweet runs a Facebook page followed by thousands to promote local businesses.
This week, Wisbech Tweet (who likes to remain anonymous) took on the role of ‘visitor’ to see what the town has to offer visitors this summer.
The results are contained within a spectacular array of photographs highlighting the wondrous floral displays that townsfolk and visitors can enjoy.
“I did take some photos of things that were a little negative but won’t share them,” says Wisbech Tweet.
“It’s best to send those kinds of photos to someone you think can help – I can’t stand negativity about our town; we should celebrate the positives.”
And with that in mind CambsNews is delighted that Wisbech Tweet has agreed to allow us to share a ‘picture perfect’ photographic journey through the town.
