The suspect in a March stabbing incident is appearing in court.
Kyle Wojtowych, 27, of Hundred Road, March, has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place, attempted robbery and causing grievous bodily harm without intent.
He is due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (24 April).
He was charged a man following reports of an assault in Station Road, March, on 21 April at about 11.15pm.
The victim’s mother described in a social media post how her son was stabbed in the face while standing alone in the town.
“Thankfully the police were super quick to the scene and the man was caught,” she wrote.
“This was also helped by the quick thinking of a man who was in the Purple Diamond.
“He followed the attacker, so the police could arrest him. I don’t know who this man is, but I’d just like him to know that because of him, we’re not worrying that this attacker is still out on the streets. Thank you.
“The ambulance also reached my son in record time, so he was treated quickly.
“I would also like to thank the incredible staff of Purple Diamond for your help and kindness.”
She added: “My son will physically recover but this trauma will stay with him forever.”
