One of the largest Star Wars private fan collections in the world is making a stopover at Peterborough until the end of next month.

Journalists were offered a preview of the exhibition yesterday ahead of today’s officially opening.

PHOTO: Terry HarrisThe Unofficial Galaxies exhibition opens to the public today (July 19) and includes over 120 items including a life-size Land speeder bought from London’s Elstree Studios, a diverse collection of rare Star Wars toys and many other highly prized exhibits.

They included more than a dozen characters in full costume to create a real spectacle.

“Let’s face it, where else would you see a Stormtrooper in a Cathedral,” said a cathedral spokesperson.
There will be several quiet sessions during our Unofficial Galaxies exhibition for those with additional needs.
