Many took up the challenge to enjoy the Summer Solstice Swim at Peterborough Lido early today. The £6 a head for a swim (double that for a swim, breakfast bap and a hot drink) had no shortage of takers for the event despite it requiring a 4am start.
For the non-early risers, the Lido is offering a Sunset Swim tonight from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.

“This is one of the most popular dates on the Lido calendar,” said a spokesperson for the pool.
“This year we will be celebrating the longest day of the year with both a Sunrise Swim and Sunset Swim.
“Watching the sun rise or set from the warmth of the Lido waters is a truly magical experience.”
Doors opened at 4am ready for the sun to rise just after 4.30am.

“If you’re more of a night owl then the Sunset Swim starts at 8.30pm with the sun setting around 9.28pm,” said the spokesperson.
The Lido Cafe is open until 10.00pm, offering a range of refreshments.
