A new video has been published to highlight changes to services on Cambridgeshire’s Guided Busway, which, from this week, offers additional capacity and buses up to every 5 minutes at peak-times.
The Busway connects towns and villages to the north of Cambridge, such as Huntingdon, St Ives, Northstowe and Histon, along with Trumpington Park & Ride in the south, to key parts of the city, including the Science Park, Cambridge and Cambridge North Railway Stations, City Centre, and hospitals.
From Sunday 1st September, significant extra capacity has been added to services, with up to 9 services per hour.
During morning and evening peaks, all Busway A and B services will now also run through to Addenbrookes Hospital and the Biomedical Campus.
“This upgrade has been supported by funding from the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority,” said a Stagecoach spokesperson.
“The B service will continue to serve Long Road College at college times and more services to St Ives are available from Addenbrookes Bus Station.”
The video features Danny Smith, operations manager of Stagecoach East’s Fenstanton depot, which runs the Busway.
“It highlights that the Busway is an excellent way to beat the traffic and that the £2 fare cap and £1 Tiger fares are still in operation,” said the spokesperson.

Ross Barton, operations director of Stagecoach East, said: “It has taken a huge amount of work to be able to upgrade our Busway services for our customers, and I hope that this video shows a little of what a unique and important facility this if for Cambridgeshire.
“The presence of such a successful and high quality mass-transit service running through or next to a number of local towns, villages and new housing developments offers ease of travel and underpins future economic growth in these areas.”
